The first week of February has given us another 5" of new snow.
Royal will be open during
the February Winter Break starting February Thursday 11th, Friday 12th, and the entire week of Washington's
Birthday (thru Feb. 21st).

New rails have arrived!
One rail is a 24' down flat down that is 6" wide.
The other rail is a 15" battleship box that has a 7' up, a 12' flat, and a 5'
down. This is a 24'

Three
Year Snowmaking and
Royal Mountain's three year plan to upgrade its snowmaking
and grooming capabilities has been completed.
Grooming Upgrade has been Completed.
Phase one: In 2007, an entire electrical upgrade was completed. This allows
us to pump more water for snowmaking an additional power source was needed. Royal partnered with National Grid to
accomplish this.
Phase two: In 2008, a second pond was dug to double the amount of water available for snowmaking
to 10 million gallons. A new snow-groomer was also purchased.
Phase three: In 2009, the final piece of the project was
completed with the purchase of another snowmaking pump.
These improvements have doubled our snowmaking
capacity which enables Royal Mountain to have a longer ski season. This greatly enhanced
our ability to a cover all of our trails in a
shorter time period.
Royal Mountain also purchased three new snow guns during this
period. $400,000.00 was spent on these upgrades
further proving our belief that snowmaking and grooming are the two most
important things that we can do.
Royal Mountain is located at the southern edge of the Adirondack Forest Preserve in upstate New York.
We have 13 trails, ranging from easy to very difficult, and three chairlifts.
